Bees carry a lot of symbolism in many cultures, but, perhaps most interestingly, First Nations and Native Americans see the Bee as a symbol of honesty and serving the community.

Dancing has always been part of the culture of Natives and, in ancient times, they used to paint their masks in black and gold to match the colours of the bee to perform a special form of dance—dancing around and touching other dancers with their stinger. The person stung by the bee during the dances would receive small gifts as compensation.
